A Mountain Meet and Custom Paint
There’s a lot of talent on display this week, including new scenes on a club layout, some outstanding paint jobs, and more. Did you make a new scene, or build something you’re especially proud of? Be sure to post it on our social media pages and tag #waltherstrains.

A Tight Squeeze
Towering cliffs and narrow passes make western mountain railroading a popular setting for model train layouts. A perfect example is this video by Custom-Trains showing a meet between two BNSF Ry. freights on his HO scale railroad.

Rockin’ It, NMRBO style
Rockwork is a favorite model railroading task for poster @bouldercreekyard. He created this realistic exposed rockface from plaster castings. It’s a highlight of his entry in the National Model Railroad Build-Off 2021, and we can’t wait to see the finished scene. Be sure to take a photo of your own NMRBO progress and tag it with #nmrbo21 to possibly be featured in an upcoming blog post. For more information on this year’s contest visit Walthers.com/nmrbo21

Bright graffiti contrasts with the grit and grime on this WalthersMainline 39' Trinity 3281 2-Bay Covered Hopper, realistically weathered by upstate_custommodels. Seems like the railroad got the last laugh, as it applied fresh, yellow safety stripes right on top of the artwork. Click on the arrows to see more views of the car.
